“Sensory Friendly Day is an exclusive event for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and sensory processing differences to have a fun, enjoyable and interactive learning experience in a comfortable and accepting environment!” – Children’s Museum of Houston

You can attend for free as a member, or with a $5 entry free per person.

The museum is closed to the public, and you need to RSVP for this special event.

The gift shop is open, but the cafe will be closed. Make sure you pack and bring your own lunch or snacks.

From their website, this event offers:

  • Less crowded environment
  • Light and sound reduction
  • Extra visual safety signage
  • Designated quiet rooms

What’s even better is that you are attending the museum with a bunch of parents and caregivers that totally understand if/when your child behaves in unexpected ways.
